PVRI, with the generous support of USAID, is committed to preventing childhood blindness by empowering sisters at the special newborn care units (SNCUs). The sisters’ screening for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) using a fundus camera will ensure a more productive and comprehensive ROP screening initiative.

The program is being implemented in five districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the able guidance of the Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad.
