Dr.Lakshmi completed MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi, Karnataka and her post-graduation from M.S.Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Subsequently, she pursued a fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology from Sri Kiran Institute of Ophthalmology, Kakinada, and received subspecialty training in Cornea & Anterior segment services from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. 

Dr.Lakshmi is actively involved in training several residents in developing cataract surgical skills. Her areas of interest are complex cataract surgeries, corneal transplantations, and keratoconus.
