Dr. Balasubramanya Ramamurthy Murthy completed his  MBBS from Government Medical College, Bellary. He then completed his MD, ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre For Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi. He continued at AIIMS to pursue a super-specialization in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery. He served as a  senior consultant at  LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.

His current interests include microincision cataract surgeries including complex and high-risk cases, corneal disorders including Keratoconus, corneal infections, Bullous keratopathy with corneal transplantation.
