Research Component
- Participation in clinical research and retrospective studies
- In-depth understanding of current scientific literature and genetic advances
- Involvement in ongoing basic or clinical research projects
- Opportunities to present at institute, community, national, and international meetings
- Access to laboratory facilities, technical assistance, and faculty mentorship

Teaching Component
- Training responsibility for residents, optometrists, and technicians
- Participation in community service activities, including training camp facilitators and social workers
- Case presentations at Grand Rounds
- Involvement as instructors or lecturers in Institute courses
- Enhancement of clinical examination techniques and interpretation of ancillary tests

Fellowship Details

Comprehensive Ophthalmology (24 Months)
- Prepares graduates for careers in academic comprehensive ophthalmology
- Training in cataract, refractive procedures, corneal diseases, basic oculoplastics, uvea, neuro-ophthalmology, and retinal disorders
- Exposure to Study Group, Postgraduate Seminars, Grand Rounds, and volunteer clinical faculty
Surgical Experience
- Initial wet lab training followed by supervised and independent surgeries
- Exposure to cataract (majority), anterior segment surgeries, pterygium surgery, keratoplasty, refractive surgery, strabismus, glaucoma filtration surgery, oculoplastics, intravitreal injections, and YAG laser procedures

Vitreo Retina Fellowship (24 Months)
- Comprehensive training in diagnosis, imaging, and management of retinal disorders (AMD, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, posterior uveitis, hereditary and drug-related retinopathies)
- Training in imaging technologies: OCT, autofluorescence, fluorescein and indocyanine angiography, electrophysiology
- Exposure to genetic counseling, molecular diagnostics, and advanced imaging techniques
Surgical Experience
- Wet lab and supervised surgeries for basic vitreoretinal procedures
- Hands-on training in laser procedures and intravitreal/periocular injections (anti-VEGF, steroids, antibiotics, antivirals, immunomodulators)

Glaucoma Fellowship (18 Months)
- Training in diagnosis, imaging, and medical, laser, and surgical management of glaucoma
- Clinical experience in consultation rooms with faculty guidance
- Participation in microsurgical labs and courses for residents and physicians
Surgical Experience
- Wet lab training followed by supervised and independent glaucoma surgeries
- Extensive hands-on exposure to laser and cryo procedures
