Sri Pushpagiri Charitable trust in line with the goals projected in the Vision 2020, has decided to take up the control of emerging causes of blindness like diabetes retinopathy and started the PUSHPAGIRI EYE INSTITUTE. Pushpagiri Eye Institute will focus on placing the finest in eye care within the reach of common man. It will provide the expensive treatment at subsidized cost to the needy, while those who can afford to pay will be charged and also encouraged to sponsor the treatment of someone less fortunate.

PUSHPAGIRI EYE INSTITUTE is unique in more than one ways. It is an exclusive super specialty eye centre dedicated to the treatment of Vitreo Retinal Diseases and is the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh. The doctors are highly qualified with an academic bent of mind who believe that involvement in new avenues of research and creating awareness among people with regard to diseases of the retina is an important as the functioning of the institute itself.

More than 500 ophthalmologists and other physicians availing the services of this institute by the way referring their patients for complex interventions. Till now, hospital records indicates that more than 25,000 patients have been treated with thousands of surgeries performed, among them 55% were done at free of cost. Over 200 comprehensive eye screening camps were conducted, as a result nearly 35 thousand people got their eye checked. As a part of childhood blindness programs, school eye screening programs covered about 20,000 school going children. Numerous continuing medical education programs, seminars and conferences have also helped to spread and share the knowledge amongst eye-care professionals.
